Back to school/ September Raffle question!
Welcome back to School- It is a pleasure getting to know the new 7th graders!
Monthly I offer a chance for students to challenge themselves with a word problem. If you try the problem and post your response here, I will put your name in the raffle jar for the end of the month raffle! Here is this months problem...
Duke measured his pulse and found that his heart beat at a rate of 80 beats a minute at rest. At this rate, how many days will it take his heart to beat 1,000,000 times? Show your work and be sure you explain each step.

Pythagorean Theorem 3/19ish
Pythagorean Theorem Assignment
1. Search the web for "Proofs of the Pythagorean Theorem" or go to one of these websites:

2. Select a proof and the converse that makes sense to you and your partner. You will be explaining this proof and converse to another group. You may use rulers, graph paper, protractors, colored paper and scissors if you think this will help your explanation.
3. Discuss the proof and converse with another group. Remeber to ask questions to clarify.
4. Write a brief explanation of the proof the other group explained to you and how it relates to the one you chose. If they were the same, what write down any added information or questions you may have.
