IT's the weekend!

It's the weekend.... thank goodness!

homework for the weekend and schedule for next is as follows:
8-1/8-2: Test on Wednesday on Ch 3... practice on IXL, study from the book, do the study guide, do the online test etc... Please complete as part of your studying for Monday page 723, lesson 3-3, 1-18 all using the notes in your flipper!
8-3: Test on wednesday on Ch3, Start studying and do page 160, #'s10-21 - find the equations.... also pg 160 #'s 22-29, find the term number...Show your work!  Have questions in class on Monday for me to answer. Field Trip to NK for the Holiday Fine Arts Show in the morning, Free Friday in the afternoon!

7-1: work on the word problems ws 3-4 and 3-5, You've been doing great with Pythagorean theorem... I am thinking a quiz/test on Thursday to finish up..
7-2: Ch 3 test on Tuesday double period.... Study!- practice on IXL, study from the book, do the study guide, do the online test etc...
7-3: page 723, lesson 3-3, 1-18 all using the notes in your flipper! There will be a quiz on Thursday on Functions, relations and function notation. We'll see how we do with the standard notation.

Sorry I have not posted in a few days... It has been really busy around here with the Thanksgiving holiday and parent teacher conferences... Conferences were a success and it was great to meet with almost all of my homeroom parents... We are hopeful that the Aspen Parent Portal will be up and running again THIS week...

Thanksgiving week!

8th grade work is due on Wedsnesday this week:
8-1 and 8-2: Chapter 2 test on Wednesday- use the links, study guide and extended response (8-1 only) to study. 8-1 you can use your extended response on the test, 8-2 you can bring an index card in to the test.
8-3: One step practice, page 766 lesson 3-3 all showing work

7th grade work is due tuesday:
7-1: 1-2 worksheet both sides evens only
7-2: solving equations ws both sides show your work
7-3 Mixtures worksheet, try your best

All students should be working on fraction nation at least an hour a week in addition to their scheduled math enrichment class(es). If you have completed fraction nation, please start on IXL at least an hour a week practicing skills that we are working on in class!

Parent teacher conference sign-ups went home yesterday! Please return ASAP, stating whether or not you need a conference. Unfortunately the Aspen Parent Portal is shut down until privacy settings are adjusted, check back soon for it's re-launch. Hard copies of the report card went home today... Tests on Tuesday for 8-1 and 8-2. STUDY using the book, your flipper, IXL, the book practice online quizzes..
8-3 will be doing the study guide and review, test is thursday.

8-1 and 8-2 will finish the test and begin on the written take home part on thursday. It is due on Monday!

All 7th grade tests are on Wednesday. If you do not finish in class there will be some time on Friday to finish up.

NECAP testing the following week- All Students should be on IXL for a minimum of 45 minutes a week.

Snowy Tuesday

Tuesday 2/1/11 - 8th graders had NAEP testing in the AM! We then did a joint 7th/8th grade snow lab with Mr K's class. If you have the data, you can make the graph and earn a raffle ticket in math and a homework pass in science... If you don;t have the data, find a math 8-2 member for the data or science 7-2 for the data!~    All 8th grade homework that was assigned on Monday is now due on Thursday!

Shape Project:
Project is due on Tuesday 1-18 for 8-2 and 8-3!
project consists of finding the surface area and volume of the 11 3-d shapes given out in class. You must make a creation with the shapes once you have found the volume and surface area. a list of these calculations should accompany the creation (mobile, statue, poster, etc). If you wish, you may create a 3d solid shape that includes at least 4 different size solids. You need to have the plan, the volume and surface area accompany your finished product. See me if you are interested in doing this project. This project will help you when it comes time to create your balloon in science class.

New Year Homework!

8th Grade Homework - due on Wednesday

8-1: Linear Equations WS- The WS had 20 linear equations on it. The first 10 you are finding the "zeros" of each equation. There were 2 equations that we did as examples in class... you were supposed to write the example in class. The second 10 (11-20) you need to make a table to find 4 values of x! You might need to simplify the problem first. You were given an example for the type also. After you have done all the problems, you need to graph 10 of them. You will be chceking them on the graphing calculator so remember to write down what problem you are graphing. If you need graph paper click here
